- 4oz/100g Margarine or Butter
- 2 Eggs
- 2 Tablespoons of Milk (more if required)

- 150g Chocolate Chips (for Chocolate Chip Madeira Cake)
- 150g Cherries (for Cherry Madeira Cake)

- Get all the ingredients and equipment out. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Start by weighing out the flour and sieving it into the bowl. Next measure out the sugar and margarine and add to bowl.
- Add the 2 eggs.
- Plug in electric mixture and start mixing until the eggs have disappeared. Now add the milk.
- Start mixing again. Keep mixing until there are no lumps or bumps and it is a yellowish, creamy texture.
- Divide the mixture equally into the cake tin(s). Bake for about 15 to 20 minutes in the oven.
